Simeon Deming was a Wethersfield, Connecticut cabinetmaker who moved to New York City in 1793, and worked in partnership with William Mills to 1798. The duo are best known for the elaborately inlaid sideboard made for Governor Oliver Wolcott in the George and Linda Kaufman collection at the National Gallery. In 1813 Deming moved to East Bloomfield, New York, where he died in 1855.
