Pittsburgh glass makers produced some of the finest American glass in the 19th century.

This sinuous amethyst colored pitcher is one of the finest examples.

The curved handle is beautifully crimped and shaped where it joins the base.

The delicate ribs of the rim and spout join the bolder ribs of the body forming a delicate, swirled design.

A rare survivor in this color and condition.
