Unique 18ct textured yellow gold necklace, c. 1960, comprising three repoussé abstract pendants set with a dozen small rose-cut diamonds and four facet-cut emeralds in kinetic drops, all suspended from a circular torque. Designed by the Italian painter Afro Basaldella (1912-1976) and made in the Rome workshop of Diderico Gherardi for Mario Masenza, Rome. Inscribed on the back of one of the pendants, Afro, MASENZA . ROMA.

Recorded in the Archivio Afro Fondazione, Rome.
